Replace Your Missing Teeth With Safe and Durable Non-metal Dental Implants

If you have missing teeth, the impact is beyond cosmetic. Tooth loss causes your teeth to overwork to compensate for the lost chewing power. Sometimes, the biting force may be transferred to other parts of your mouth, resulting in unwanted spaces and smile changes. And that’s not all. Tooth loss causes bone deterioration and diminishes your chewing and speaking ability.

If you have had enough of tooth loss, non-metal dental (zirconia) implants from Carolinas BioHealth Dentistry can restore the function and form of your smile. Once your dental implants are in place, you will forget you ever lost teeth!

What to expect from the non-metal dental implants

The first step is to book an appointment with Dr. Tyler Wynne. We evaluate your overall dental health and then use digital films and scans to determine the ideal location to place an implant.

A zirconia implant is placed in your jawbone replacing the root of your missing tooth and a healing cap is placed to kick-start the healing process.

After implant surgery, we give your mouth 4-6 months to heal. During the healing period, fusion occurs, and your implant is firmly anchored to support your new teeth. Once healing takes place, the final step is to install a natural-looking denture, crown, or bridge.

Benefits of non-metal dental implants

Zirconia dental implants, also known as metal-free implants, were designed as an alternative to traditional titanium (metal) implants. Zirconia is a lightweight, all-ceramic material — amazingly long-lasting and resistant to corrosion.

Metal-free dentists are ideal for patients seeking a tooth replacement that benefits their entire health. Traditional metal implants can cause complications for patients allergic to metal. Here are the reasons we prefer metal-free implant-based restorations.

  • Optimal integration with the bone
  • They are resistant to corrosion
  • Ideal for patients allergic to metal
  • They are metal-free, hence can’t conduct electricity or heat
  • Single-piece options mean you don’t need an abutment that can loosen
